How the CFL Playoff Format Works
Six teams qualify for the CFL playoffs: the top three finishers in each division. First place in each division earns a bye straight to the Division Final, while second hosts third in a Division Semi-Final. The two Division Final winners then meet in the Grey Cup. How many teams make the CFL playoffs?
Six of the nine CFL teams make the playoffs — the top three in the West Division and the top three in the East Division. The first-place team in each division earns a bye to the Division Final, while the second- and third-place teams meet in a Division Semi-Final.

If the fourth-place team in one division finishes with a better record than the third-place team in the other division, it crosses over and takes that playoff spot. The crossover team plays its entire playoff run in the other division's bracket.
How are ties broken in the CFL standings?
Teams tied on winning percentage are separated by head-to-head record first, then division record, then point differential, and finally points scored. The standings on this page already apply the CFL's official tiebreakers.
When is the 2026 Grey Cup?
The 113th Grey Cup is November 15, 2026 at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. The Division Final winners meet for the championship the week after the Division Finals.
